The Asymmetric Warfare Group Complex (AWG) project included the demolition and construction of three new buildings located within the current AWG complex: the new 75,000-SF headquarters building, a 2,700-SF visitor control center (VCC) and a 7,000-SF vehicle maintenance and fabrication facility. In addition, the U.S. Army selected Skanska to construct a fourth building, a 15,000-SF facility for the Department of Public Works (DPW), situated on a site approximately one mile away. Construction of the entire project included office space for operational support, conference rooms, information processing center, uninterruptible power supply, standby generator, video teleconference center, classroom, wash platform, gate guardhouse, and administrative/shop building for displaced installation maintenance contractor. Supporting facilities include electric service, water, sewer, and gas; paving (vehicle parking, access roads), site improvement, landscaping, intrusion detection, alarm and fire protection systems. The maintenance facility has space to conduct vehicle maintenance and fabrication. Anti-terrorism Force Protection measures include standoff and fencing. The demolition of two Buildings is also included. The U.S. Army Asymmetric Warfare Group provides Operational Advisory and Solution Development support globally to the Army and Joint Force Commanders to enhance Soldier survivability, combat effectiveness, and enable the defeat of current and emerging threats in support of Unified Land Operations.
