Tampa International Airport (TPA) Main Terminal and Airport Concession Redevelopment Program

  • Tampa International Airport needed a transfer level expansion and redevelopment of the Main Terminal and Airsides A,C,E and F to accommodate the airport's rapid growth. Skanska's integral role was to guide the design and manage the very precise, phased construction of this complex project. This design-build project provided final design and construction of the transfer level expansion and redevelopment of the Main Terminal and Airsides A,C,E and F. The 50,000-SF transfer level expansion covers additions to the east and west plaza decks of the Main Terminal building; the relocation of the shuttle car lobbies for Airsides A,C,E and F; and the removal of the former Airside D shuttle lobby. The redevelopment program also involved 200,000-SF of renovations to the Main Terminal and all four Airside buildings. Improvements included ticket and baggage claim wayfinding signage and seating improvements, airside functional improvements and airport concession redevelopment.
